This week I was inspired by a new online class from children’s book illustrator Nina Rycroft – ‘Watercolour Magic – Illustration Masterclass.’ She shows how to use five different techniques for one of her illustrations. I didn’t have the time or spare cash to take her class though it looks amazing. Instead, I decided to try my own experiment with different styles.
The image comes from a ‘Charming Tales’ figurine, which I drew on print paper, traced onto baking paper and then retraced onto 300gsm watercolour paper, cut down to card size for my daily sketches. The different techniques used are provided in the ‘scroll over’ on each image.
