It has been a while since I have had the motivation to get back into illustrating. Last week, I decided to start a daily journaling, scheduling, task listing, gratitude and sketching practice. This has led to a huge increase in my level of motivation and productivity. Instead of submitting work to the Character Design Weekly Challenge, I am now going to work on one illustration a week that I will post on this website and my social media.
Thanks to inspiration from my Canberra Children’s Illustrators Group friends, quite a few of whom brought their ‘Sketchbook Revival’ work to show at our recent meeting, as well as encouragement from my husband to start a daily scheduling and journaling practice.
This first effort is titled ‘A Very Brambleberry Mouse,’ using brown watercolour pencil for the initial sketch, with watercolour and fine point pen.
