This one is very late in coming but I have had the concept in the back of my mind since March. I’m also happy to say that I finally took the plunge and bought myself a set of Royal Langnickel water colours and some good quality watercolour paper. I am in love! I love the […]
52 WIC – Week 21 ‘Red’ CATCH UP
As soon as I saw ‘red’ in the weekly theme I instantly thought of the gorgeous Josephine and Christophe from Le Tres Bon, a wonderful little French restaurant in my town. I love love love painting in watercolour and I’m pretty happy with the result. Happy to say that Josephine liked the illustration and I’ve […]
52 WIC – Week 24 ‘Multiculturalism’ CATCH UP
I created this illustration to give as a gift to one of my friends who is getting married. I’ve finally got the eyes right but I was too eager to draw the lines in fine point pen and managed to make it run. I really do need to learn botanical drawing and watercolouring as it […]
52 WIC – Week 16 ‘Experiment’ CATCH UP
I love the bright and intense colours from my new watercolour pens. It doesn’t have the subtly of watercolour paints but I like them much better than the watercolour pencils. The gorgeous ‘Charming Tales’ figurines were once again my inspiration and this was fun to draw.
52 WIC – Week 15 ‘Thread’ CATCH UP
This week my beautiful cat Oscar was run over. We all loved him so much but my son especially. They were inseparable and Oscar was so patient with William. We will always be connected by threads of love.
52 WIC – Week 14 ‘Surprise’
I’m much happier with how this little bunny turned out. I seemed to have been able to work much better with the watercolour pencils. Bunny was inspired by a gorgeous ‘Charming Tails’ figurine that I found on a web search. This type of face suits my mice characters much better than other styles that I’ve […]
52 WIC – Week 13 ‘Cinema’
Mr and Mrs Brambleberry enjoy going to the cinema together (just like me and my Mr). I love the idea of a tiny mouse cinema behind the big cinema curtains, hidden in a little hole in the wall.
52 WIC – Week 12 ‘Happy Place’
This is definitely my happy place, snuggled on the couch with my little boy sucking his thumb and scrunching his blue blanket while I read a story (with an Easter Egg – my books ‘The Tales from Brambleberry Farm’), and my husband beside us.
52 WIC – Week 11 ‘Perspective’
Sunday dinner with the Brambleberry family. Roast cauliflower with baby peas, garlic butter beans, warm bread rolls and of course cheese.
52 WIC – Week 8 ‘Baking’
“Billy Brambleberry loved visiting his Grammy. He especially loved her honey cake biscuits, fresh from the oven, warm and comforting, like one of Grammy’s hugs.”
